I will say to anybody that thinks the religion is "good" because of a success story here and there, this is NO excuse for all the bad that we know is in this religion!
Totally agree LongHairGal
what would have happen if i was not home when jehovahs witnesses knocked on my door?.
there was a group of us living in a small trailer in the mid 60s when and old pioneer brother knocked on our door and placed all kinds of books and magazines with us.
all of us took it seriously and studied and started attending the kingdom hall.

to all brothers and sisters reading this site: "and i love you so" (remember the don mclean song?
)...is the feeling most of us had with regard to the watchtower and the brothers leading it.
but truly, who did we get baptized for?
The Governing Body has lost its way.
They were never in the right way.
The governing body has always taught Jerusalem was destroyed in 607 BC
They have always taught there was two exiles, one in 617 BC (See insight book under Daniel)
Another in 607 BC and after that Jerusalem was desolated for 70 years and the 2520 began to count that ended in 1914
But the bible says that there was another exile 5 years after 607 BC ------or 602 BC
So there was no 70 year desolation, no 1914, no appointment of the Faithful and discreet slave. They are just a puny religious cult that is less than 1% of the world population. Less of 1% of a dollar is not even a penny. So no one cares.
So the whole premise that God is using the WT to direct his people is wrong. If anything and if you believe in the Bible, it is part of Babylon the Great Harlot. And the Bible says “GET OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE”
(Jeremiah 52:28-30) . . .These are the people whom Neb·u·chad·rez′zar took into exile:
in the seventh year, three thousand and twenty-three Jews.
29 In the eighteenth year of Neb·u·chad·rez′zar, from Jerusalem there were eight hundred and thirty-two souls.
30 In the twenty-third year of Neb·u·chad·rez′zar, Neb·u′zar·ad′an the chief of the bodyguard took Jews into exile, seven hundred and forty-five souls.. . .
i had a couple of elders come visit me about an hour ago.
they wanted to inform me that a brother who was well known throughout the circuit had died.
(i actually knew about it but did not go to the funeral) he was about to hit 90 years old, missed it by a few weeks.
They were not bad people, they were very kind and honest.
You say that and then you describe the way in which they treated their own flesh and blood.
The (parents) were kind and honest---to me and several others- considering that hundreds attended the funeral.
They treated their daughter like that because they were under undue influence.
Just like most of us here were at some point.
I feel the elders are a different story because of their words, “That's what she gets” showed no compassion, “After the fact”
I’m willing to bet if the father knew beforehand he was going to die, he would have called his daughter to say goodbye. And I have a feeling the mother will call the daughter and not wait till January.

Quote; Visiting the bereaved - should you visit immediately or wait for an invitation?
Not only is it good funeral etiquette but it is common courtesy and caring to call on the bereaved to offer sympathy and help.
Usually about 15 minutes is sufficient time to express your sympathy.

It’s kind of
a strange and sad story because when I came into the organization in my teens, (around
15 years old) this brother was giving talks in conventions, was the assembly
overseer, pioneering and doing everything he possibly could for the WTS. He lived a very simple and meager life
I’m in my 60s now and I saw this man and his
wife conscientiously do everything the WTS asked of him. They were not bad
people, they were very kind and honest. He was married at 18 and had a daughter
at 19. 16 years later the daughter was disfellowshipped and was never reinstated. Both he
and his wife shunned her all their life. She would call once a year, every New
Years- January, to see how they were doing. They would say; “We’re doing find”
and ask her if she was ready to come back to Jehovah’s organization. She would
say “No” and they would hang up on her. She had two brothers who are JWs. One
ran off with a non-jw married woman, and was reproved. These two brothers have also
shunned their sister all their lives. But she was the Firstborn.
I was told there was over 300 Jws that attended the funeral, but the daughter was not there. I asked the elders if they contacted the daughter to tell her that her father had died. They said “NO” We are not under obligation to contact a disfellowship person. They said, “She will have to find out when she calls next January.”
Then they said, “That what she gets for leaving Jehovah’s Organization.
I don’t feel sorry for these people. Cult or no cult, normal human behavior tells you this is wrong.
I hope they learn TTATT on the last 15 minutes of their death bed.
jwfacts show that publisher growth was 15% pre- 1975 and has decline to about 2%.
what prevents them from fudging the annual growth and keeping it at something more positive like 10%?.
"a great crowd that no man is able to number".
I think a better phrased question might be, "They lie about everything else, why wouldn't they lie about annual publisher growth?"
That makes absolute sense Vidiot.
i went on my tablet today and clicked "yes" that i attended the convention (they probably tracked my ip and two elders will show up on my door step).
i scanned through the new brochure on bringing those who have left back.
i noticed that not once they mentioned anyone who was df!
Also, they very much made it sound like absolutely no disciplinary action would be taken against any repentant sinner who returns, no matter the sin.
Yea right!
one thing i have to admit is that the wts are experts at inducing guilt, fear and creating fantasies.
if youve seen their latest video for single sisters, it will scare the shi** of any single jw sister even thinking of marrying someone who is not baptized.
video recap;.
One thing I have to admit is that the WTS are experts at inducing guilt, fear and creating fantasies. If you’ve seen their latest video for single sisters, it will scare the Shi** of any single JW sister even thinking of marrying someone who is not baptized.
Video recap;
If you are a sister and disobey and marry someone that is not baptized, then you are guaranteed that you will marry a loser and your marriage will fall and disintegrate like a meteor burning up as it crashes through the atmosphere.
If you are JW parents and the husband does not reach out to be as MS or elder then the parents will allow the children to date a weak brother or sister, you will see you child’s demise into a world of adultery, divorce and destruction.
If your marriage is failing because you disobeyed, then you’re only chance to salvage anything is to “Come back to Jehovah’s Organization” Otherwise you’re a dead duck.
If you are an obedient sister and marry a baptized brother, you will ride off into the sunset in a white horse and live happily ever after and have a marriage like the old JW couple in the video who has been married happily for 100 years.
For the next
year, the Jw Single-sisters will stay in their place!-Good luck with that JW Single-sisters.

The Searcher
Two types of lost sheep:
1) Inactive lost sheep - J.W.'s can talk to these ones and try and get them back into the KH.
2) Disfellowshipped lost sheep - these are the offspring of Satan himself and must be totally avoided!
Lol!

As for the fudging that has taken place the question is why they don't invent their figures
That's what I was thinking VI. If you're gonna lie, might as well go all the way. Fudging is to much work.
